About via del bersagliere

Wonderful estate of medieval origin immersed in the uncontaminated Mediterranean vegetation of the Maremma Natural Park, near the suggestive Gulf of Talamone and within the Uccellina Park. The estate is populated by roe deer, fallow deer, wild boar, porcupines and foxes that live in their ideal habitat surrounded by pines, holm oaks and corks. Crossing the woodlands, it is not unusual to encounter packs of fellow deer that graze on the beach.

The property consists of several buildings: the village is composed of the main villa, the 'Casa del Fattore', a consecrated church, the 'Casa del Guardiano' and various agricultural outbuildings, including the old warehouses for the wheat, totaling 5000 square meters in an area around the village of about 40 hectares, 6 of which are olive groves. From the farm, along a dirt road, one arrives at the other farmhouses and the agricultural plain; the two houses of about 490sqm, once the gamekeeper's lodge, were completely renovated in the 1990s, together with an annex of about 80sqm and a property of about 520sqm also inclusive of an annex of about 80sqm. These two buildings are located on a plot of about 73 hectares, 17 being olive groves.

A further 8km through the hills of the Uccellina Park, immersed in the green Mediterranean vegetation that covers the Maremma promontory, one arrives at two ancient watchtowers: the first one with a square-plan structure built in the mid-16th century on request of the Medici family to strengthen the defensive structure of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the second one, medieval and quadrangular, was part of a castle that was destroyed during the Ottoman invasion of the first half of the XVI century. It is where the legend on the myth of the 'Beautiful Roxellana' is set, who deported to the harem of Istanbul, first became a favorite and then wife of Süleyman the Magnificent.

Finally, we reach one of the most beautiful beaches of the entire Maremma region, called 'the beach of the fallow deer'; a kilometer of coastline untouched by crystal clear waters, within the Maremma Natural Park, where it is possible to live in close contact with nature. Only few meters far from the beach, there is an accomodation, built in the XVIIIth century and currently transformed into 5 apartments for a total of about 1500sqm.

The entire estate is spread over an area of about 1200 hectares: 70 hectares are flat irrigated arable land; 20 hectares are hilly arable land; 23 hectares are olive groves; and the remaining 1100 hectares of Mediterranean shrubs. The land is immediately eligible for organic farming.
